JoJo Rabbit Review

Updated: Jan 20, 2020

Jojo Rabbit is 2019 American satire film based in world war 2. The film is directed by Taika Waititi and stars Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Roman Griffin Davis and Waititi respectively. The film follows 10 year old Jojo Betzler living with his mother in Nazi Germany during the later stages of World War 2. During the film Jojo talks to his imaginary friend, a supportive but childish version of Adolf Hitler.

Taika Waititi has been on an role recently with the super funny 2014 horror-comedy film "What We Do in the Shadows" (which has since been turned into a show for FX) and of course the MCU film "Thor Ragnarok" And with his latest film I can say that he's still on a role. JoJo Rabbit is a hilarious film that should not be skipped. It's a film that can make you laugh out loud and also make you cry. The character development doesn't feel forced, the Child actors are brilliant with some getting most of the laughs and progresses naturally.

In Conclusion JoJo deserves every positive exposure it gets. It is hilarious, dramatic and very very enjoyable. It's one of those films you could watch over and over again and never get bored. Just don't take your Austrian Grandma to see it.

9/10
